The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) leads the coordination\, collaboration and co-operation of all organizations involved in the preven tion\, preparedness and response to disasters and emergencies. AEMA will b e hosting the 2013 Western Border Interoperability Working Group (WBIWG) m eeting that takes place on May 10 at the same location as the CITIG Cross- Border Forum. WBIWG meetings\, which began in 2005\, offer an opportunity for representatives from Western Border States and provinces to interact w ith each other about interoperability issues. This annual get-together pro vides a platform for federal\, state and provincial coordination of public safety communications and technologies with an emphasis on border areas.
